About us

We’re a non-profit organization on a mission to alleviate hunger in Lackawanna County.

The Bread Basket of NEPA, an interfaith based organization, serves individuals, families and Veterans across Lackawanna County to alleviate hunger in your neighborhood.

Bread Basket of NEPA is a 501(c)(3) non profit that was established 1984 to reduce local food insecurity. Bread Basket of NEPA currently supports 7 Food Pantries throughout Lackawanna County with the goal of providing the traditional non-perishable food items, as well as fresh foods.

We are proud to be one of the only organizations in Lackawanna County that is partnered with Door Dash, through their Project Dash initiative to deliver food to our neighbors who experience transportation issues which hinder them getting to one of our locations.

Event: Pantry to Palate

Where: Thursday October 15th, 2026
When: 6pm – 8pm
TICKET: $50pp

Join us for this fun and casual culinary experience where Culture meets Compassion-with Special Guest, Dave Falchek.

As we mingle about sampling various dishes, he’ll talk us through the history of Regional Traditional Foods prepared with basic pantry ingredients. Often referred to as “Peasant Food.”

You can also expect some fabulous Baskets for Raffle, the $25/$2500 Giant Floor Drawing and Cash Bar, & music by the incmparable Hot Club of Scranton!

Every registration to this event will bring us closer in the Fight Against Hunger!

Bread Basket of NEPA follows all current state health regulations and is able to provide fabric masks and gloves to our volunteers upon request.
